The Health Career Pathways Project, funded through the California Endowment, is a project intended to build out articulated healthcare career pathways between education (K12, Community Colleges, Universities, etc.) and industry.
OC STEM, with the help of two facilitators Mona Shah and Maya Dunne, recently met with members of the Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC) on January 25th, producing thoughtful conversations about the critically important issues surrounding healthcare workforce. The knowledge and expertise from these 27 companies who are focused on STEM education and workforce, are essential to developing STEM-based heathcare career and curriculum pathways. Follow-up meetings with hospital leadership, data compilations, and recommendations are in this project’s next steps. OC STEM looks forward to taking these findings to educators in the future!
