How do you define STEM?
STEAM is an educational program developed to prepare primary and secondary students for “hands-on” “minds-on” opportunities within the fields of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM). In addition to subject-specific learning, STEM aims to foster inquiring minds, teamwork, innovation, logical reasoning, and collaboration skills.
What inspires you?
Seeing the light bulb come on when the students get it! PBLs are so interactive that students get to create, they get to innovate, they get to make mistakes, and learn from it!
If you were able to be an Olympic athlete in any sport, which sport would you choose and why?
Waterpolo – Goalie & Swimming (100 m, 200 m, 50 m freestyle): Waterpolo is a team sport where everyone has to move the ball down the tank to score. Collaboration and teamwork are key to the success of the team. Swimming is an individual sport where you get a chance to show your true individual talent, yet if you are on a relay team each member must contribute in order to win gold.
