How do you define STEM?

Integrating science, technology, engineering, and math helps us develop reflective learners who ask for feedback to improve and revise work and thinking. STEM is the essence of knowing how to learn and learning with better tools.

What inspires you?

I inspired to teach because I’ve developed the skill to be comfortable while being uncomfortable 🙂 Teaching is almost suspenseful because from one moment to the next you don’t know where your students will take you.

If you were able to be an Olympic athlete in any sport, which sport would you choose and why?

I would be a long distance runner because my favorite attributes are endurance, willpower, and strength.

An education approach that equips students to be thinkers and problem solvers. STEM is student-centered where the students explore concepts and apply what they learn to solve problems.

What inspires you?

When I see a student find their “element” and find joy in learning and become empowered as a lifelong learner.

If you were able to be an Olympic athlete in any sport, which sport would you choose and why?

Biathlon – Cross-Country and Target Shooting. Why…skiiing and shooting a rifle explains it all…..

STEM is how science, technology, engineering, and math are used together to solve real-world problems.

What inspires you

I’m inspired by new ideas to solve problems. It makes me hopeful that we will continue to make our world a better place to live.

If you were able to be an Olympic athlete in any sport, which sport would you choose and why?

I would love to be a beach volleyball player! I think those women are in incredible shape, get to play in the sand, and know the value of teamwork! Plus, I would finally look amazing in a bikini…
