On Thursday, May 4 OC STEM partnered with CISCO to help launch this year’s world-wide tech movement: Girls Power Tech Day! Every year, CISCO opens its doors to young women all over the world to inspire and encourage them to pursue a career in information and communication technology. OC STEM was happy to recruit about 30 young high school women from the Samueli Academy and Magnolia Science Academy to tour the CISCO Irvine campus and engage with various industry professionals.

The young women spent the day interacting with new technology features in the facility and conversing with CISCO employees during one-on-one mentoring sessions. Many of the young women already had their future careers in STEM thought out. It was amazing to be in a room full of excited future STEM leaders!

Thank you to the Samueli Academy and Magnolia Science Academy for allowing their students to participate, and thank you to CISCO for putting on such a great event. We look forward to future Girls Power Tech Day events.
