Workforce Development/Opportunities

There is an increasing demand for workers who can routinely use scientific, technological, engineering and mathematical knowledge and skills in their jobs. According to OCTANe’s State of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Orange County Year 2, Orange County is home to a growing number of biomedical (352), information (494) and clean tech (26) companies.

Project GreenSTEM
Central County ROP (CCROP) has received additional grant funding and will expand the project’s “Green” focus in 2010-2011 to include an emphasis on careers in Design, Rapid Technology, Engineering, Art, and Manufacturing (D.R.E.A.M). New courses are being developed in the areas of Production Design, CAD and 3-D Drafting, Engineering and Rapid Technologies.
